So… these little FAUX-PIARY arrangements may very well be the easiest DIY décor item I will ever share. Truthfully, you may wonder where it has been your whole life! Plus they are SO stinkin cute that you will want to do it over and over again. And here is the kicker. It is THREE steps… ok, technically four but you get the gist.
Here’s what you will need.
* A little pot of sorts. (Scroll all the way down for details on my little Canton pots.)
*Moist Floral Oasis.
* A wooden or plastic skewer or stick of your choosing (I used a bamboo kitchen skewer because I would trim it by hand).
*a cute little bunch of flowers fresh picked from your yard or your favorite store.
* A cut of your favorite ribbon long enough to make it around your stems and tie a pretty bow.
*Moss (I scraped some off the rocks in my yard for this (FREE!!) but Reindeer Moss will work as well.
Step ONE:
Select your cutie patootie vessel of choice. A tea cup would work, or any petit vase or pot. How about a cute little terracotta pot? Yep. That would be cute too! Stuff Moistened OASIS into your little pot. Jam it in there, nice and super compacted and tight.
Step TWO:
Insert your Skewer. Right in the middle. Because you packed your oasis so tightly in the pot it should stand nice and straight and not wiggle around. Don’t test how much it will wiggle too much or else you will have to go back to step one. I should say that I trimmed about an inch or so off the skewer to get to a good height, not too tall that the flowers would flop over but not too short either. JUST RIGHT is what I am saying.
Step THREE:
Pull your little bunch of flowers together in your hand and tie them with ribbon. I used about 5 stems and a mix of Bridal Crown Narcissus and Daffodils. Gently SLIP the little bunch over the skewer so that the skewer is hidden in the middle of the bunch. Tighten the ribbon if you need to.
Step FOUR:
Insert your moss onto the top of the oasis. Tuck it in there and BAM… there ya go. DONE. SOOOOOOOO easy peasy and cute right?!
XO,
Pippa
P.S. I have had a LOT of inquiries to these little pots. AREN’T they FABULOUS?! I got mine at my local family owned garden center but they are made by LOTUS INTERNATIONAL and are supplied only to the trade so if you have a retail ID you can probably get them, or ask your favorite garden center to order them! Here is the link to them CLICK HERE… they are DIRT CHEAP… my garden shop had them priced at $3.99 and then they were 25% off that! Wooohooo!!!
